Final Results! - SPFSA 3rd Annual Holiday Food Drive

Congratulations to the Diamond Edges on their incredible WIN! This team was at somewhat of a disadvantage with an out-of-state competition right in the middle of the food drive. This obviously did not slow them down. Unified and determined these girls worked all the way to the end collecting 794 items and $274 in donations for a grand total of 1,342 items! We would also like to congratulate the Jade Blades and the Ice Gems on their outstanding results! All three of these teams surpassed the 1,000 mark! This is such a huge accomplishment! Congrats to you all!

We broke all of our previous records, collecting 4,049 items and collecting $740 in donations! It was great to see the skaters learning how to work together, creating strategy, unity, creativity and of course great memories! What a gift this has been for us all! 2nd Annual SPFSA Trivia Night Results

We raised $5,500! With the help of our members, we filled 25 tables and had close to 200 people join us for an exciting night of great trivia! A BIG thank you goes out to everyone involved in making this event a HUGE success!

Special thanks to Gregg Robinson, Stacy Felps, Paula Grogg and Erica Grogg for being the researchers & authors of our Trivia Night questions! We would not have had all of the incredible donations if it weren’t for the help of Jandy Stamm, Kathy Machinsen, Jill Howald, Angie Brandt, Tammy Milster, Jim Voelkel, Karen Orf, Becky Schilling, Connie Ruff, Mark and Lana Hunter, Teri Hercules, Jane Wagganer, Jason Burney, Lori Hunter, Tonya Wombacher! Jill Howald for making the amazing centerpieces! We could not have run such a great event without the help of our volunteers: Connie Ruff, Shelia Hasse, Amy Wright, Erica Grogg, Melissa Felps, Bob Brown, Jim Hofer, Leslie Meriwether, Jan Brown, Paula Grogg, Stacy Felps, Wendy and Gregg Robinson, Dana and Pam James. Our club sincerely thanks all of the contributions received by our community supporters and to our "webmasters" Heather Hyatt and Heather Dirksen for making sure they are properly recognized on our website.

The success of this event will enable our club to continue to operate and support our members throughout the 2011-2012 skating season! Thank you again to those who participated, we look forward to an even bigger & more successful event next year!

Trivia Night Contest

The final results for the most tables sold are in!

Congratulations to Onyx Ice, who sold a whopping seven tables for Trivia Night! The entire team will be treated to a pizza party and 1 free hour of ice time! Congrats!

Thanks also go out to our Individual Skaters/Adults, Jade Blades and Ice Gems who each brought in four tables!

Membership Forms

The current membership year is July 1, 2011, through June 30, 2012. All current membership forms are available here, as well as in the rink lobby. Join now to begin taking advantage of the benefits of being an SPFSA member!

Renew your St. Peters Figure Skating (SPFSA) membership and your United Skates Figure Skating (USFS) membership. You will find that SPFSA has again kept their membership fees the same. Unfortunately, you will find that U.S. Figure Skating has increased their fees.

Thank you to all of our volunteers that make this club run more efficiently, we appreciate all of the help that we have received this past year. As a member of the club, we expect each family to volunteer a minimum of 15 hours per club year. Volunteering includes competitions, test sessions, board positions/meetings, food donations and any other volunteer opportunities requested by the board of SPFSA. (Note: Ice shows are sponsored by the Rec-Plex, not the club) If you meet your goal of 15 volunteer hours per club year, your volunteer commitment fee will be credited to next year’s volunteer commitment. Please look on the bulletin board to see how much you have volunteered and the amount of your credit that should be applied to this year’s volunteer commitment. Please note: The amount of volunteer hours and deposit amount may change next year. If you do not meet your volunteer commitment, the fee will be retained by the club (SPFSA).

Each time you volunteer please remember to turn in a volunteer report form so that your hours may be accounted for. If you are donating food items, you will be advised as to what equals one volunteer hour. Just signing up does not meet your commitment; you must turn in the forms. Team activities do not count toward your volunteer commitment. Please return the membership application along with the Waiver and Release of Liability agreement with your membership fee. You may place your application in the SPFSA box mounted on the wall in the North Rink lobby.

SPFSA Dad's Club

Calling all Dads! Join the SPFSA Dad's Club! The primary purpose of the club is to support the SPFSA in anyway we can, primarily with fundraising and public relation projects. We want to get all the dads involved to get to know each other better and have some fun! Some ways to participate may include future fundraising events such as another mouse race, trivia night, maybe a golf tournament or a BBQ.

Questions? Please contact Gregg Robinson. Moms, please forward this to your husbands or better yet, send their e-mail information to Gregg, he’ll do the rest!
