Angelina is the 2016 U.S Figure Skating Championships Intermediate Ladies Pewter Medalist.

Last year, Angelina was the first figure skater to represent SPFSA at the 2015 USFSA Sectionals and Nationals as a Juvenile Girl. Angelina first stepped out onto the ice at age 6 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. She is coached by SPFSA Coach Kelsey Himmel. She has been a member of SPFSA since 2008. Angelina is a sophomore at Mizzou K-12 Online High School. She would like to thank you for your support.

Amy Li
Juvenile - Well Balanced Free Skate – Qualifying

This is her 2nd time to represent SPFSA to go to the Upper Great Lakes Regionals and her first time competing Well-Balanced Juvenile Free skate at regionals. Amy has passed her USFSA Novice Moves in the Field, Juvenile Free Skate and ISI freestyle 7 tests. She is currently in the 8th grade at MICDS, joining school cross-country running and school Band. She loves reading, drawing and knitting.

Elizabeth is thrilled to compete in her 4th Regional competition. She will be competing in the Juvenile division and will be skating to "Tango Amore". She is coached by Kelsey Himmel, Julie Binz, and Sima Baker. Aside from skating, Elizabeth also enjoys playing the viola and doing artwork. One of her favorite skating moments was competing in Cape Cod with her team when they performed “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. Elsa attends Mizzou Online school. Her hobbies outside of skating are reading, drawing and video editing.

Luke Anderson
Pre-Juvenile - Well Balanced Free Skate - Non-Qualifying

At 14 years old, this is Luke's second season competing at UFSF competitions. After breaking his arm in early February, he couldn't skate for 3 months and then couldn't jump for three more months. So this year he only competed in one competition before Regionals. He has competed at ISI competitions several times since he was 6 years old as well as participated in local skating shows including Nutcracker On Ice. He is coached by Kelsey Himmel for Freestyle and Susie Smith for Ice Dance and Moves in the Field. His program is set to "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Louis Prima but most will recognize it from Benny Goodman. The program is choreographed by Kelsey. He has passed Novice MIF, USFS Preliminary Free Skate, USFS Pre-Silver ice dance test, Juvenile Free Dance test, and also has passed ISI freestyle 5. His most memorable moment is when he landed his axel for the first time and it is on video! Outside of figure skating, Luke is a 10th grader at Christa McAuliffe School of Arts and Sciences. In his free time, he enjoys dancing (he takes classes at Charmette Academy of Dance), playing video games, reading, and spending time with his cat, Molly.

Emilie Ann Hunteman
Preliminary - Well Balanced Free Skate – Non-Qualifying

Emilie Ann first started skating at the age of 7 at the Indiana/World Skating Academy. The family then moved to Evansville, Indiana where she skated with the Greater Evansville Figure Skating Club for 2.5 years. In 2013, her family moved to O’Fallon, Missouri. Emilie Ann has been coached by Kelsey Himmel and a member of SPFSA since November, 2014. She has passed her Intermediate Moves in the Field and Preliminary freeskate under Kelsey’s coaching. She has also taken dance with Jamie Mathews and recently passed her preliminary dances. Emilie Ann is skating to Michael W. Smith’s “Prayer for Taylor” this season, which was also choreographed by Kelsey. This song was written in honor of Taylor Schrauger, who passed away from terminal cancer in 2000, just days before his 12th birthday. Emilie Ann’s two top figure skating moments were when she landed her axel for the first time and the day that she was able to be Scott Hamilton’s assistant while he taught a learn to skate class. Her figure skating hero is Sasha Cohen because “we both started skating when we were 7, moved around a lot and had to switch coaches a lot.” Outside of skating, Emilie Ann is a straight A student, a member of the National Junior Honor Society and enjoys playing the cello. She is currently in the 8th grade at Fort Zumwalt South Middle School. Emilie Ann is the daughter of Chris and Kristin Hunteman.

Jadie Gober
Pre-Preliminary - Well Balanced Free Skate – Non-Qualifying

Jadie took her first learn to skate lesson at age 4 and was coached by her cousin Loren Hasse (former Diamond Edge). Jadie did not like skating at first, but by the age of 8 decided to be in the spring program Dr. Seuss. She also wanted to be on a synchro team, so she joined the Emerald Blades. Through private lessons from Melissa Felps, she began competing in several ISI competitions as well as skating in shows. She is currently a member of the Ice Gems synchronized skating team. Now, at age 11, this is her first year competing in USFS competitions. She has passed juvenile MIF and USFS pre-free. She has also passed ISI freestyle 5. She is coached by Kelsey Himmel for freestyle and moves in the field. Her program is set to Anastasia and is choreographed by her coach Kelsey. Jadie's most memorable skating moment was landing her double salchow after she worked for a long time to land it. Jadie currently attends Frontier Middle School and is in the 6th grade. Outside of skating she enjoys, reading, swimming, and gymnastics.

Pigtails 4 Peace Fundraiser - Thank you!

The St. Peters Rec Plex recently lost a skater to bullying. Destiny Gleason was 14 years old, and had recently relocated with her family to Warrenton. A group of middle school girls tormented and bullied her to the point that she took her own life. It is an extremely tragic story, one that deserves our support and attention.

Destiny Gleason

St. Peters Figure Skating Association would like to thank everyone who participated in our "Pigtails 4 Peace" fundraiser. We were able to raise over $800 for Destiny's family. If you missed the opportunity to participate, you can still make a donation directly at https://www.gofundme.com/2m9rmd9w. Please mention "SPFSA-Pigtails 4 Peace" in the comments section.

Thank you again for standing up against bullying. Fly high Destiny!

If you or someone you know is being bullied, speak up, reach out and let's put a stop to bullying.
